Open Call for Creative Technologists

The international wildlife protection group WildAid and Shanghai-based OF Course creative coding studio will host a competition in Summer 2018 to design coding and interactive design based pieces in a campaign to raise public consciousness about conservation and the protection of animals in China.

WildAid has teamed up with Jackie Chan, Yao Ming, and other celebrities in past years to promote awareness about animal conservation and the damage that ivory, shark fin soup, and other popular animal based products in China can have on wildlife resources. This competition first calls for proposals based around interactive design and creative coding from artists and designers around China. OF Course will then select finalists and then pair them with two international mentors and the materials, space, and resources necessary to help them realize their proposals. The winning pieces will be installed and exhibited in high-traffic spaces like subways and malls around Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

If you are interested in applying to be a mentor for the WildAid competition and traveling to China around the period July 31-August 8, we will provide you with the following:

  1. Roundtrip Airfare
  2. Housing
  3. $ 2000 USD instructor stipend
  4. Documentation of your work during the “bootcamp” mentor program
  5. Promotion and Publicity via WildAid and OFCourse platforms and social media for your work throughout China.

If interested, please send a portfolio, CV and self-introduction to ofcoursejobs@gmail.com prior to June 30, 2018. Thank you for your interest!
